STRONGLY in favor of age caps. This gerontocracy thing is getting old.

ALL CAPS when talking about CAPS. Plus, a clever joke. 10 out of 10 from the judges.

Yeah, we need to start at 25 so our reps understand what it’s like to rent a car. Never understood that rule either…we should definitely cap age (and term limits) for elected officials and do the same thing for driving.

We need a cap on driving. On Monday, I saw a poor older gentlemen driving his ford focus 35 mph on a interstate leading back into DC where people are doing 70. It's dangerous. Like praising Lindsey Graham, dangerous.

Totally in favor of age caps, and your suggested number sounds fair. Few over 75 are totally unaffected by cognitive decline. Glad you mentioned Madison Cawthorne too. What an arrogant, stupid ass to hold office. I would think that trying to board an airplaine TWICE with a loaded handgun and a DUI would be cause enough to kick him out of office...

Let me know how you really feel! :)

I suppose this is very shallow thinking on my part, but every time I see Madison Cawthorne I think, what a waste. He’s so good looking but yet such an enormous entitled asshole. He should be put into a huge toilet with Marjorie Taylor Green and that Bobeck woman and they should all be flushed together.

I'm not smart enough to know why we don't have term limits for the House and Senete like we do for the President. What's the rational behind that?

Christopher Dake's avatar

Republicans passed the term limits for the president because FDR kept kicking their butts. The argument is two things:

1. Congress will never limit itself. Just look at the 27th Amendment - took awhile to pass and major public backlash, which in this time, doesn't appear to mean much.

2. There is an argument that giving term limits simply hands governing to lobbyists, which is a funny argument because that's what happens anyway.

I believe our law enforcement (and FBI) have mandatory retirement ages for public safety as well as to reward their service. Politicians should too, at least for the first reason.

Politicians are rewarded for service by moving right on over to K street for big paydays.

Losers go on to television.

But I agree with this idea.
