Pennsylvania is a hotbed of Quakers. I live in the Thomas Wynne apartments, in Wynnewood PA. Wynne was the personal physician of William Penn, and both were Quakers. The teams of the University of Pennsylvania, my alma mater, are called the Quakers. The local colleges of Haverford, Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore were all started by Quakers. There are many private Quaker schools in the area, including the oldest Quaker school in the world, Penn Charter, founded in the 1600s.
Agreed. It's been an interesting learning experience to see how much the movement was pushed aside for abolition. Of course, I don't do it justice, but hopefully can do some deep dive on the subject because it's an important part of our history.
Thanks for reading and commenting, David. It's appreciated!
I will keep your abhorrence of the word nagging in mind when I remind you of your to-do list 😘
I appreciate your encouragement to remind me.
Also, very good post 😃

"Hotbed of Quakers!" Like it, Uncle Jack. :)
So many people have fought for suffrage, of all backgrounds, that its importance cannot be denied.
