I just thought I'd drop by to comment about the fact that I don't feel qualified/able to comment much on your posts, which I've been dipping and diving into. I know very little about American history, apart from the fact that for some reason you give thanks every year for not being tied to us Brits any more.

But I love the concept of local and little known history, or history about real people. One of my favourite subjects in school was Social and Economic History, which looked at history as it affected people, as opposed to the mainstream History syllabus that seemed to be solely concerned with kings and queens chopping each other's heads off and starting wars all over the place.

Anyway, I've enjoyed what I've read so far. And congrats on getting married. πŸ˜ƒ

Terry!

Thanks for taking the time to write. That's very kind of you. Thank you for dipping and diving. Dip and dive everywhere!

Yeah, the 4th of July is a super big deal over here. We get to eat hotdogs and watch fireworks, and it's nice when it falls around a long weekend.

Social and Economic History sounds very interesting, and I agree it can be better than who killed who sort of topics. Politics and wars tend to dominate my topics, but on Mondays, I like to shine a light on lesser-known folks.

Married life is going well. I think I'm seven months in - the hard part is over!

Hope to see you soon. Please don't hesitate to chime in.
